  we go for breakfast the food is really good. the only thing I do not like is that we do not get a bill the owner writes everything on a notepad and they charge for a coffee refill and jam and onions on the home fries
  
  we went there last week we were 10. they could not handle a large group. the orders were all mixed up. someone got cold eggs saussages were not fully cooked. so for poor service I did not leave a tip when I paid by debit card so the owner had the gall to ask me if I or someone else had left a gratuity for the waitress. I was so upset that I no longer will go there it is up to the customer if they want to leave a tip or not she had no right to ask me that.

  When we went, the only thing we weren't happy with was the whistle dog. My Hot Beef Sandwich was exactly what I wanted and it was delicious. Not sure about the person who complained about the price for the portions- it's really cheaply priced, and in my opinion reflects exactly what you get. It's not anything fancy in terms of the quality of the food but it's really good comfort food, perfect portions, fast efficient and friendly service, and exactly what I think of when I think "truck stop diner." I'll be back for sure.

  Definitely a hidden gem. My husband and I had driven past this place so many times wondering about the gum logo and finally decided to go in and we're so happy we did! I'm from a smaller town where nearly every place to eat had "home cooked" tasting food at low prices which I've been unable to find in Ottawa. I found it here! Seriously, you could stuff 2 people here (with really delicious food) for the same price as buying a single meal, no appetizers or drinks at a different restaurant. They have a really good variety of meals, and I actually felt like I was family speaking with the woman who served us. This is my favourite place in Ottawa, I'm so happy we found it!
