  Live jazz music a few times a week which is hard to find in this city. Fantastic wine selection. Tasty menu. Very cool spot wouldn't expect from a basement restaurant.

  One of my favourite places to be in Ottawa. Extensive wine, beer, and whiskey menu. If they're not too busy, sit at the bar and talk to the bartenders about what you're drinking; you will learn something and get a great story. Order the steak frites. Go with a friend and make your own beer flights. The food is not amazing by any standards but fit perfectly with the atmosphere.

  Not my favourite place. Three out of three steaks ordered at our table were not done as requested. Pasta dishes looked ok. I feel like prices reflected the By Market overhead rather than what's on the plate.

  Extensive selection of beers and wines. We went with a flight of beer and couldn't go wrong with any of our choices. Decent appetizers to share as well.

  I normally do not post any reviews but felt that in this case I wanted to. I had previously heard rave reviews about this restaurant and we chose to have dinner here for my friend's bachelorette. Unfortunately we were left disappointed with the mediocre service. There was a hair in not only my food, but in my friend's as well. The waitress did not even offer to waive it off the bill and merely offered a replacement. I also ordered a flight of wine and the glass was dirty at the bottom with solid string-like gunk - deterring me from finishing it. Overall highly disappointed with the service. I would not recommend it for that reason despite their extensive wine list and food.
