  Linda and her team at Artistic Cake Design have always delivered beautiful and delectable cakes for my family's most special occasions. Artistic Cake Design made an elegant three-tiered wedding cake for my reception and a sheet cake for my mother's 70th birthday party. Both included chocolate cakes with chocolate filling as well as lemon cakes with raspberry filling. All of the cakes were moist and rich, and the lemon/raspberry was a particular highlight, the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The team was very faithful to the designs we had in mind and delivery went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend them for any occasion if you want a memorable and delicious cake!

  Well, I used to be a loyal customer, but I don't think I will be any longer after today's experience. This used to be my go-to place for cake decorations, specifically candy flowers. Today I cycled the 11km from my place to replenish my supply - only one staffer was in the store, sitting behind the cash and looking rather grumpy. I asked about small candy flowers. She interrupted me to say, very peremptorily, "we don't have them". "Really?" I said, and before I had a chance to say any more, she scornfully said, "we haven't carried them for YEARS", as if I was idiotic to think I'd find them there. I chuckled, and said, "I bought some here just two years ago", to which she replied with an angry shrug. When I asked if she could suggest any place that DID carry them, she simply said, "I haven't the faintest idea", making it very clear that she had no further interest in me. So, despite my normal preference for doing business with local small businesses as opposed to big box stores, I cycled another 5km to Michael's - who DID have candy flowers, and were further blessed with pleasant sales staff who actually went out of their way to help me find what I was looking for. Amazing, innit?
